This 1999 Shelby Series 1 is number 48 of 249 examples produced by Shelby American and is finished in silver over black and gray leather. Power comes from an Oldsmobile-based quad-cam 4.0-liter V8 paired with a six-speed manual transaxle. Features include a black soft top, pushrod suspension, carbon-fiber bodywork, air conditioning, a Monsoon CD/cassette stereo, 18? wheels, vented disc brakes, heated mirrors, Borla mufflers, and Shelby-branded floor mats. This Shelby Series 1 has 592 miles and is offered with a spare Shelby American seat for shorter drivers.
The Series 1 was designed by Shelby American and was manufactured at the company’s facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. The carbon-fiber and fiberglass laminate bodywork are mounted on an aluminum chassis. The car is finished in silver and features a black soft top, front fog lamps, a heat extractor hood, dual-outlet exhaust, and fender vents. The three-piece 18? five-spoke wheels wear Shelby center caps and are mounted with Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires that measure 265/40 up front and 315/40 out back. The car features pushrod suspension with inboard mounted coil overs and remote reservoir dampers. Braking is provided by vented discs at all four corners.
The cabin features bolstered seats that are trimmed in black leather with gray inserts and feature Ca Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle made by RBT with ZF components. Shelby’s signature was embroidered on the backrest. Equipment includes air conditioning, a Monsoon CD/cassette stereo, power windows, and a serialized plaque on the dash that bears serial number CSX5048. A spare driver’s seat designed for shorter drivers is included in the sale.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 170-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows 592 miles.
The Oldsmobile-sourced 4.0-liter Aurora L47 V8 was factory rated at 320 horsepower and 290 Lb-ft of torque. The engine features carbon fiber covers and intake tubing as well as Borla mufflers.
