Vehicle Description:

1964 Jaguar XKE is a Series I roadster underwent a multi-year refurbishment in 2013 involving a repaint, an interior refit, a reseal of the engine, and a chassis overhaul. The car is finished in Carmen Red over black leather upholstery and is powered by a 3.8-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a black soft top, triple SU carburetors, 15” knockoff wire wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, covered headlights, split chrome bumpers, and a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and the selling dealer reports the engine is fitted with a ported intake manifold and cylinder head as well as components sourced from Gran Turismo Jaguar of Perry Village, Ohio.  

The car left the factory finished in Carmen Red, and the body was removed from the chassis, stripped to bare metal, repaired, and gapped before it was repainted. The exterior trim was re-chromed, and the split bumpers were replaced with stainless-steel units. Additional details include a black soft top, a louvered clamshell hood, covered headlights, and dual center-exit exhaust outlets 

Chrome-finished 15? knockoff wire wheels are retained with two-eared spinners and mounted with 185-series Universal Sport Radial tires. A matching spare is stowed in the trunk. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes, and a later-model servo and stainless-steel hard lines are said to have been installed. Suspension components were refinished, and the bushings, wheel bearings, and seals were replaced. 

The firewall and floors were lined with sound-deadening material before the installation of replacement interior components said to have been sourced from Suffolk & Turley in the UK. The dash pad, bucket seats, and door panels are trimmed in black leather, and dot-patterned metal trim adorns the center stack and console. 

The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with an inset clock, while auxiliary gauges are mounted in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 56k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added since the refurbishment. 

The 3.8-liter DOHC inline-six was rebuilt under prior ownership and features triple SU carburetors as well as a high-flow oil pump and an aluminum flywheel sourced from Gran Turismo Jaguar. A Lucas alternator has been fitted, and the selling dealer states that the engine is further equipped with a ported intake manifold and cylinder head as well as a larger vibration damper, revised camshafts, and high-compression Venolia pistons. The carburetors were tuned, and an oil change was performed in preparation for the sale. 

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed synchromesh manual transmission. A protective coating has been applied to the underbody and wheel wells.
